The Initiative for Gender Equality and Development in Africa (IGED-Africa) is a women-led, Ghanaian-registered non-governmental organization with a regional focus on advancing gender equality, human rights, and inclusive development across Africa.

IGED-Africa recognizes that sustainable change requires collaboration across sectors and levels. The organization connects grassroots realities with national, regional, and international advocacy spaces, ensuring that the experiences of women, girls, and marginalized communities inform policy dialogue, legal reform, and institutional action.

IGED-Africa’s work is rooted in the belief that sustainable development cannot be achieved without addressing the systemic inequalities that limit the rights, opportunities, safety, participation, and economic security of women, girls, and marginalized groups.

Sylvia Horname Nutsukpui is a lawyer with over 25 years’ experience in legal policy, human rights, gender, and development. In addition to her Degree in Law, she holds an MA in Social Policy Studies, an MSC in International Business and several certificates in Human Rights, NGO Management and Leadership. She is highly experienced in advocating for human rights and gender equality across the globe and strongly engages the African Human Rights System and the International Human Rights Mechanism. She is a co-founder and the Executive Director of IGED-Africa, a Ghanaian based NGO focused on promoting human and women’s rights, gender equality and development in Africa.

Eunice Kaduah Adonu is a Gender, Peace and Security specialist with more than nine years of experience in programme coordination, research, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement across Africa. She serves as Programme Coordinator for Gender, Peace and Security at IGED-Africa.

Marian Amissah-Ocran is a Chartered Accountant and development practitioner with 23years of experience in women’s economic empowerment, land rights, and financial inclusion. She holds an MSc in Development Finance and is a member of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Institute of Directors Ghana (IoD-Gh).
