Marian Amissah-Ocran – Programme Coordinator: Women’s Economic and Financial Inclusion 

Marian Amissah-Ocran is a Chartered Accountant and development practitioner with over 23 years of experience in women’s economic empowerment, development finance, land rights, and financial inclusion. She is Co-Founder and Coordinator of the Women’s Economic and Financial Inclusion Programme at IGED-Africa.

At IGED-Africa, Marian leads programmes that promote women’s access to economic opportunities, financial resources, productive assets, and sustainable livelihoods. Her work combines research, policy advocacy, and programme implementation to strengthen women’s economic participation and influence policy reform.

Prior to joining IGED-Africa, Marian worked with organizations including LANDESA and WILDAF Ghana, where she led initiatives on women’s land rights, economic justice, and development finance. She has also coordinated major regional programmes, including AMPI and WVL Ghana, and has authored policy briefs and publications that have contributed to the advancement of the Maputo Protocol.

Marian holds a Master of Science in Development Finance and is a member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Directors Ghana (IoD-Gh).

She is passionate about advancing inclusive economic systems that expand opportunities for women and strengthen sustainable development across Africa.
