IGED-Africa’s work is rooted in the belief that sustainable development cannot be achieved without addressing the systemic inequalities that limit the rights, opportunities, safety, participation, and economic security of women, girls, and marginalized groups.

Sylvia .H. Nutsukpui – Executive Director

Sylvia Horname Nutsukpui is a lawyer with over 25 years’ experience in legal policy, human rights, gender, and development. In addition to her Degree in Law, she holds an MA in Social Policy Studies, an MSC in International Business and several certificates in Human Rights, NGO Management and Leadership. She is highly experienced in advocating for human rights and gender equality across the globe and strongly engages the African Human Rights System and the International Human Rights Mechanism. She is a co-founder and the Executive Director of IGED-Africa, a Ghanaian based NGO focused on promoting human and women’s rights, gender equality and development in Africa.

Ignatia Danso Abeam is a development professional specializing in programme coordination, policy support, and gender-responsive development. She serves as Programme Assistant at IGED-Africa, supporting the implementation of programmes that advance gender equality, peacebuilding, and inclusive development.

Priscilla Mawusi Joppa – Research and Communications Officer

Priscilla Mawusi Joppa is a researcher and communications professional specializing in policy research, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and programme implementation. As Research and Communications Officer at IGED-Africa, she supports the organization’s advocacy, knowledge generation, and public engagement efforts.

Michel Tete – Research and Project Assistant [Intern]

Michel Tete is a Research and Project Assistant at IGED-Africa, where she supports the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development programmes. Her work contributes to the organization’s research, project coordination, and knowledge management activities.
